The October meeting was cancelled due to a double booking with the Council.
LOOP SYSTEM
The cost of this system has been met by the ABC Club with a donation from the Community Council and Community Association.
ASSOCIATION LOGO
It was suggested that an English translation of the motto be available – Dodo agreed to take this forward to the ABC Club. It was suggested to use Friendship Fosters Progress.
ASSOCIATION FLAG
The Parent Council have received estimates for flag poles from Ivor Murray – £16.80 per metre + VAT. A discussion took place and it was agreed that only one flag pole was required. Dodo to liaise with the Parent Council regarding specification of pole and flag.
SCHOOL GARDEN
The Parent Council have submitted an application to the NHS Capital Grant Fund for assistance with rejuvenating the school garden.
FINANCE
All loans have been paid, including RBS loan. We have a healthy account considering the difficult situation we were in during the extension works. Special thanks to the Community Council for their generous loan in a time of need!
There is still a significant amount outstanding from SRDP which we cannot claim for until the end of the year.
RBS have responded to our letter of complaint, offering a £40 goodwill gesture. The charges we had to pay during the short length of time of the loan were phenomenal. The Chair stated that he was not happy with the response received and may draft a reply back to RBS.
EVENTS COMMITTEE
The Committee have not met since the last wedding. The Senior Citizen’s Christmas dinner was discussed and it was noted that 15 December was a preferred date rather than leaving it until January.
CENTRE EXTENSION UPDATE
The new extension is working well – roller doors for the wash area cupboards are yet to be fitted
Problem with lack of heating in the centre – Kenny to get in touch with Marvins.
PROPOSED GYM
UBC have priced for the proposed gym conversion on the first floor. The floor requires a steel beam for strengthening purposes. We have submitted a bid to the NHS Capital Grant Fund for funding this project. We have also received £5,000 from the Scottish Community Foundation towards the gym costs.
